Activity Instructor

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Require outdoor activity instructors for the start of our season based at Avon Valley Farm.

Must be 18+, local and available asap. Position is Ad-Hoc, but we will be busy this summer.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Bsupa Level 1 or BCU Paddlesports Level 1 Stand up paddleboarding instructor to take on our Avon Valley site. You will be teaching our ready to sup sessions with a 1 to 6 instructor to customer ratio. 2 hours per session.
• A BCU Paddlesports Kayaking Instructor would be useful, but not essential.
• ArcheryGB Instructor, teaching 90-minute archery sessions at our new archery extended range.

Other activities you will be trained on for land-based activities:

• Axe throwing Instructor, teaching people how to throw the tools in a safe manner.
• Ultimate Throwing Instructor, teaching people how to throw various tools, knives, cards, hatchets, shovel, in a safe manner.
• Battle Archery Marshal, teaching people to shoot each other with a bow and safe arrow in a paintball style scenario.
• Sword Combat Marshal, Teaching people in the art of sword fighting in a LARP style format, using swords, axes and shields
• Range Officer, Teaching various groups on how to shoot air rifles at various targets.

All positions also involve housekeeping, maintenance work onsite, customer welfare, cleaning of equipment, repairing equipment, etc.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 6-8 months
Part-time hours: 16 per week

Salary: £7.50-£10.50 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Bristol, BS31 1TS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

• teaching: 1 year (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

• 75% (preferred)
