Role Overview & Responsibilities

Dog Over Breed – Job Responsibilities

Dog Over Breed reserves the right to amend the responsibilities at any time.

Along with the responsibilities mentioned below, Employee must be willing to assist with/complete ANY work needed to make the working environment better including but not limited to, loading/unloading supplies, maintenance (i.e., building), cleaning, and other work as it arises.

Supervise Playrooms

• Maintain control of a large group of open-play dogs
• Continuously walk the room to reward positive behaviors and re-direct escalated play
• Quickly address behavioral issues without the use of force or physical punishment
• Engage in stimulating, fun, educational activities and games with the dogs
• Educate the dogs by teaching them to follow basic commands such as sit, down, and stay
• Attend to any dogs with special needs
• Understanding and recognizing Canine Body Language and signs of stress and escalating behaviors.

Keep playroom safe & healthy

• Always keep playroom clean
• Complete daily and weekly cleaning assignments to maintain a safe, clean play environment
• Follow proper protocols with pet safe cleaning solutions
• Handle morning and late afternoon feedings
• Administer medications
• Create and maintain medication charts
• Maintain clean and tidy pet areas, beds & corrals
• Organize and maintain a tidy dog food, supplement, and treat area
• Maintain storage of pet supplies, leashes, toys, etc.
• Create and oversee schedule for daily dog care

Health and spa

• bathe any size dog
• brush coat of any dog
• trim nails, clean teeth, and clean ears
• Meet high standards in administering medication and following allergy protocols

Outside Dog Walking

• Cleaning up after pet and disposing of pet waste
• Take dogs (in a pack of 4 to 10 dogs) out for an adventure, hiking, parks, trails, shopping centers, parking lots, neighborhoods, etc.
• Follow safety protocols to keep pack safe (no meeting/sniffing other dogs, keep dogs away from all people and dogs, no pets by strangers, keeping a safe distance to maintain control of dogs, etc.)
• All dogs must be always on leash and leash(es) must be in your hand. Except when taking a picture then leashes must be tied together with other dogs accordingly. NO SINGLE LEASH
• ALWAYS be professional and friendly with people regardless of their attitude. Best to avoid and continue walking when coming across to anyone rude.

• Work in conjunction with House Manager and Assistant to ensure around the clock care is provided, especially when owner is traveling

Qualifications

• Must love dogs!
• Must have reliable transportation and great time management skills
• Honest, compassionate, strive to always be open and not pass judgment
• Must treat each dog as if they were your own
• Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing
• Ability to work flexible day and hours, including holidays and weekends
• Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
